Beth and Forrest: Special Wedding Session At Canyonlands
And now for the Grande Finale…. a couple of days after their wedding, Beth and Forrest put their wedding clothes back on for a special photo session at one of the most beautiful places on earth, Canyonlands National Park. Between you and me, I was starting to sweat bullets a little bit about this session. After all, I’d just driven almost all the way across the continent to make photos of the desert, and by the morning of this photo session, it had been raining for two whole days.
Two days of rain. In the desert. Exactly.
Forrest looked at the radar, and the rain clouds were swirling over Moab like a toilet bowl. WTH?
But good ol’ wedding luck kicked in, and about an hour before photo time, the clouds parted and the sun came out. The sky was filled with the most perfect golden light and the landscape was glowing with glorious sunset goodness. These are the days I live for.
And this last photo needs a little explanation. In case you haven’t guessed, Beth and Forrest are adventurers. They live to travel. Forrest has been to 49 states, and Beth is quickly catching up to him (I’m working on it too… I’ve been to 29 and counting… Woot!). The van that you see in the photo is their newest adventure toy. It’s modified for travel, and although I think it might be tricky to get it to that 50th state, it will probably see most of the others. And that’s how you live like a responsible dirtbag. You can even follow them on their adventures by reading
Beths blog (I totally do. Sprocket’s posts are my favorites).
Finally, I want to give my deepest thanks to Beth and Forrest, and all of your wonderful family members and friends I had the joy to meet and get to know on this big adventure. You guys are amazing and I am grateful to all of you for your kindness and hospitality, and the warmth with which you welcomed me into your celebration (and thanks Jason for the PBRs!).
Hello. My name is Amanda. I make neat pictures of nice people, drink coffee and whiskey (sometimes at the same time), and travel. The only thing I love more than coffee is traveling. I've also got a pretty serious landscape photography habit to support.
