“Here’s to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold beer—and another one!”
— Irish Toast

Meet Colleen and Adrian.  There’s so many cool things to tell you about them, I barely know where to start.  For their wedding weekend, they reserved an entire summer camp for their family and friends, since everyone was traveling from far away.  The camp they reserved turned out to be a camp that Colleen had actually attended as a teenager, even though she didn’t realize that at first, which was pretty funny.  Having all your guests in one location for your wedding makes things a lot more fun for everyone (plus, nobody can be late, right?).  It was easy to tell by how relaxed everyone was that they were really enjoying their adventure.  The Shenandoah Mountains are one of the prettiest places to visit in the whole country, and everyone was sharing stories of their hiking adventures and the landmarks they’d visited.  In fact, the day after the wedding, I even bumped into Adrian’s uncle at an outpost on the Skyline Drive.

Colleen and Adrian met about 6 years ago when they both saved the world for a living.  They don’t save the world for a living anymore.  They do much more important stuff now.  For instance, Adrian is a professional brewer.  He brews beer for a living.  There are only a handful of jobs in the world that are cooler than my job, and that might be one of them.  Be sure to check out the hops on Colleen’s necklace and earrings, and Adrian’s tie and cufflinks.  For their wedding, Colleen and Adrian actually brewed mead to toast with.   That’s how cool they are.

So that is how Colleen and Adrian went from saving the world to wedded bliss.  Well, part of it anyway.  The best part of my job is that I get to meet all these real life superheroes.  If I had to guess, I’d say Colleen’s superpower is patience (lots of back-story there, aaaaannnd she also plays around in film photography…. which totally requires metric tons of patience), and Adrian’s superpower is….. making beer (hello!).

Thank you Colleen and Adrian for having me be a part of your special day.  It was so much fun getting to know you and your family and friends.  I’m still giggling over the South Park jokes and all the stories your families told me.  You guys really rock.
