Caroline and Caleb | Sunny Christmas Engagement in Naples, Florida

December has been a pretty busy traveling month.  By the end of this month, I will have made photos of awesome people in 5 states.  In my last blog post, I shared engagement photos in the snow from Chicago.  So naturally, the most logical next stop is Naples, Florida for engagement photos with Caroline and Caleb at the beach.  In 75 degree weather.  Woot!  Caroline and Caleb are getting married next June in what is sure to be a gorgeous and crazy-fun day of awesome-ness.  As we strolled around exploring the streets of Naples, we chatted about what their wedding would be like and who would be there, which gave Caroline an awesome opportunity to show off her hilarious knack for accents, prompting Caleb to warn her after an especially nice round of Minnesota style “you-betchas” that if she kept if up, her voice was going to stick that way.  Needless to say, we laughed our bums off all afternoon, and I’m just relieved to discover that some of the photos were actually in focus.  Anyway, as you scroll through these delightfully in focus photos, take a moment to read through what Caroline and Caleb had to say about themselves… you’ll get a good chuckle for sure.

How did you meet?
Caroline: We met because my aunt and Caleb’s mom did Zumba together! After they decided sparks might fly if we met, they arranged for us to meet while I was down in Florida from Washington, DC, for July 4th. The beach fireworks were rained out, but there were other fireworks that flew instead!
Caleb: Corny, but very true.

What was dating like?
Caleb: It was always exciting and romantic. We went on many different kinds of dates: dinner at beach restaurants, exploring the spy museum, DC United soccer games. We’ve visited California, New York, Washington state and DC, and Florida together, and are looking forward to seeing many more places together. I’m so lucky to have found someone with whom I can happily spend hours in an airport terminal.

Describe your proposal.
Caroline: When Caleb told me we had to go to the beach at 7 AM on a Saturday a few weeks before law school finals, I was a little perturbed. Why did I need to lose precious weekend hours of sleep in order to sit on the beach when it was too early to get a tan!? Caleb had planned a lovely sunrise proposal, complete with a live dolphin show on the beach…
Caleb: I definitely planned the dolphin show.
Caroline: The dolphins were a nice touch. He also incorporated music from my favorite band into the mix! It was wonderful and he then pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever seen!

How would you describe your relationship?
Caleb: Every time I see Caroline, I hear the melodious purr of Neil Diamond in his luminescent blue suit singing: SWEEEEET CAROLINEEEEE.
Caroline: There are no popular songs with the name “Caleb” in it, but I still love him. 🙂

And that, my internet friends, is the story of Caroline and Caleb, who are ridiculously adorable and hilarious.  You also now have that Neil Diamond song stuck in your head, just like I do…. bum! bum! bummmmm!… So good!  So good!  And that is exactly how I’m going to leave you for the Christmas holiday… giggling and singing Sweet Caroline.  You.  Are.  Welcome.

Thank you Caroline and Caleb for an awesome afternoon.  You are so much fun, I can’t wait to come back and spend your wedding weekend with you!!
