East Lynn Farm Wedding | Round Hill, Virginia | Kate and Aaron

Today I want to tell you the story of Kate and Aaron’s sunny fall wedding at the East Lynn Farm in Round Hill, Virginia. Kate and Aaron may look young at first glance, but don’t let what’s on the outside fool you. These two are old souls who recognized kindred spirits in each other, and they’ve been a couple for 7 1/2 years now. Kate says, “We were both assigned the same freshman dorm at the College of William & Mary. I remember Aaron and his friend Patrick always staying up late working on physics problem sets in the social lounge in our building, while I was probably working on Chinese flashcards. Over our freshman year we became friends and started hanging out more just the two of us. Luckily our parents live pretty close to each other, so that summer we spent a lot of time together and even went on a three day backpacking trip! That fall we were ‘officially’ a couple and have been together ever since.”

Getting engaged was a perfect example of how seamlessly they blend together and compliment each other. Kate describes the proposal, “On the surface its a pretty typical story, we went out to dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, went for a walk after to the fountain at Grand Army Plaza, Aaron proposed and I said yes! BUT it happened to be a Monday night and Aaron’s first day of work at his new job, which is why we were celebrating with the nice dinner. We don’t often go on post dinner walks, so as soon as Aaron asked if I wanted to go on a casual 9pm November stroll around the neighborhood, I was pretty sure what was about to happen. I was partially so confident in my suspicions, because about a week or two before I had ‘accidentally’ found a ring box while ‘accidentally’ looking in Aaron’s box o’ things while he was out of town. I felt so bad that I had found the ring and somewhat ruined the surprise, that I confessed all this to Aaron about 30 seconds after saying yes. It turns out the timing was pretty perfect, as the next night we walked by the fountain and noticed that it had been shut down for the season.”

And with that, you should really check out this amazing wedding. This was my last wedding of 2016, and what a great note to end on.
