Today I want to tell you the story of Laura and Nick’s sunny winter wedding at Juliette Chapel in Dahlonega, Georgia. Laura and Nick have actually known each other since childhood. They told me, “Our mothers worked together at MUST Ministries and attempted to set us up, but it didn’t work. In September 2013, Laura had MUSE General Admission tickets for a Nashville concert and had also won tickets through an online contest. Laura’s mom had remembered Betsy (Nick’s mom) mentioning that Nick liked MUSE, so she offered the extra tickets to Nick and Betsy. We were all standing together waiting for the concert to start, just chatting. Asked about school, Laura mentioned that she was taking a programming class and she had missed a few to come to these concerts, so she was a little behind. Betsy suggested that Nick, a computer science major, tutor Laura to help her catch up. We met up for a few tutoring sessions at Chick-fil-A (good food and free wifi!), and as they say, the rest is history.” As it turns out, you really should listen to your mom(s). They’re pretty smart. But in the end, things worked out exactly as they should and family and friends came together on a sunny afternoon in Dahlonega to play jumbo chess and checkers, dance, laugh, hug, and witness Laura and Nick say their wedding vows. Congratulations Laura and Nick!
