Today I’d like to tell you the story of how Whitney and Ross were married on a perfectly sunny fall day in Austin, Texas at The Addison Grove. Whitney and Ross describe planning their wedding as hoping to make their ‘worlds collide’, and they were completely successful in the best possible way. Ross is, according to his best man, a quintessential New Yorker, born and raised in the city with no intention of ever leaving. And Whitney is an Austin girl who moved to the city for school, which is how they met. They lived there until just a few months ago. We even made their engagement photos on the East River in the spot where they were engaged on the coldest night of 2016. But there’s just something about Texas. If you’ve ever known a Texan, you know how homesick they get. They can leave and live elsewhere, but there’s this wistful look they get in their eyes when they think about Whataburger or Shiner Bock. To be honest, the more time I spend in Texas, the more reasons I find to go back. And so that’s how so many New Yorkers found themselves out in the rolling hills of southern Texas amongst the scrub oak and longhorns, eating brisket and learning the two-step and loving every minute of it. It was the perfect meeting of the worlds. Congratulations Whitney and Ross!
