Today I’d like to tell you the story of Jacob and Jared’s elegant fall wedding at the historic Wimbish House in midtown Atlanta. The Wimbish House is a stately Atlanta landmark that was built in 1902 as a private residence, but then purchased by the Atlanta Women’s Club in 1919 and has served as an event venue ever since. In 1932, Jared’s great-grandparents were married at The Wimbish House, which made it a wonderfully perfect choice for Jacob and Jared’s wedding celebration.
Jared and Jacob met five years ago, and Jared says that he knew Jay was the perfect person for him on a date to Fernbank museum when Jay ‘totally geeked out’. (If you’ve been to Fernbank, you can appreciate Jay’s reaction, that place is amazing.) Later, they were engaged on a trip to Washington, D.C. Taking a midnight monument walk, Jared took Jay to a spot at the Lincoln Memorial and said it was his favorite spot. He asked Jay if he knew why it was his favorite, and then Jared got down on one knee saying “this is why” and proposed.
And that’s how we all found ourselves celebrating on a magical fall evening in Atlanta, complete with a surprise send-off by Atlanta’s iconic Baton Bob. Congratulations Jacob and Jared!
