Travel // Personal Work

Getting off the grid.

One of the greatest gifts of this work, besides the people, is the way it's let me wander.

There's an unexpected rhythm to the way wedding photography and landscape photography shape each other. After a day spent in motion and emotion, holding space for joy, connection, and the thousands of tiny decisions that go into telling a true story, I retreat.

I find the quiet.

I let the land do what it does best - - remind me who I am when no one is watching.

Some photographers chase the most iconic views, like they're checking them off a master list. And that's fine. I like looking at those photos too. But for me, it's always been about finding spots off the beaten path, then looking deeper and closer and seeing the mysteries a place holds.

There's secrets in the stillness of the morning in the desert. You can hear them if you watch the light creep its way across the rocks. That's the kind of beauty I try to find and hold onto.

One of my best friends is a canyon. I visit as often as I can. Another good friend is a lonely Joshua Tree on top of a remote mountain in the desert. I like to climb up there and sit and listen to the wind howl while the little tree dances with it.

Many of these photos were made in National Parks, but not all. Our National Park system is one of our greatest treasures, and I hope all of these wild spaces will continue to be protected for generations to come.

Lately I've started making prints of some of my favorite images available for sale. A few of them have hung on my own walls for years. I've tried to include options for every budget, but if there's something you're looking for, please don't hesitate to ask. It's a thrill to me every time a print sells.

Every year, I'll add a few more images to the collections.
