Today I want to tell you the story of Veronica and Dan’s wedding at Hunter Mountain, New York. Not many people can say they were married in a cloud, but Veronica and Dan really did get married in a cloud. The chairlift dropped us all off at the top of the mountain for the ceremony, which had been enveloped by a thick rain cloud. The rain had stopped, but the cloud had lingered. If you’ve ever been at elevation and in a cloud, or anywhere in heavy fog, you know how it has that wonderful effect on sound and makes everything feel more immediate and intimate. It must have been a wonderful few minutes for them as they rode the chairlift back down the mountain alone together after the ceremony, suspended in the air in that magical stillness.
