In the past few years, I’ve learned a lot about weddings. The one biggest thing that I’ve learned about weddings, and the reason that I love photographing them so much, is that every wedding is very very different. Weddings also have a lot in common with each other, besides the obvious people-getting-hitched factor. For instance, at every wedding, I learn something. Marissa and Patrick’s wedding in Indian Beach, North Carolina was especially illuminating. Not only are Marissa and Patrick genuinely warm and kind souls, but they are fascinating to be around. For instance, at their wedding I learned about competitive toasting. It’s a thing, really. I also learned about the cinematic splendor of Sea Biscuit. And I learned that cayenne pepper is a poor substitute for chili powder. These are all useful things that I will carry with me and utilize, especially that bit about the pepper. That’s helpful knowledge. Oh, and in addition to all the learning, we made some pretty cool photos too. Enjoy!
And that, my friends, is how a Sea Biscuit lovin’ man and a woman armed with an abundance of cayenne pepper celebrate their wedding day with style and killer dance moves. I want to thank Marissa and Patrick for having me be a part of your perfect day. And thanks to all your family and friends for being so much fun to work with and for taking such good care of me all day. I wish you all continued love and peace and happiness. Thank you.
