Today I want to tell you the story of Cheryl and Courtney’s gorgeous and slightly windy spring wedding at Oconee Brewing Co. in Greensboro, Georgia. This is the story of a couple who were simply meant to be together. After meeting each other on Courtney’s birthday and spending a whole day chatting, they arranged to have dinner together, and have been inseparable since. They are so in tune with each other that they even bought rings for each other a week apart and planned to propose over the same weekend.
Courtney told me, “We were visiting her sister who knew about everything . During a family photo shoot, Cheryl got down on one knee. I immediately dropped to my knee as well and yelled, “Shut up!” Cheryl replied, “No, YOU shut up!” And then both of us forgot what we were supposed to say . We exchanged rings and then went viral on Tiktok!”
Over the years I’ve been to quite a few weddings, but this wedding was one of the most touching celebrations I’ve ever had the honor to be a part of. The family dances, with Cheryl cutting in to dance with Courtney’s dad, and then all of Cheryl’s brothers dancing with her made me cry so hard I could barely see through the viewfinder. Thank goodness for autofocus and instincts. What a beautiful way to celebrate the joining of these families. Congratulations Cheryl and Courtney. And thank you for letting me be a part of your day.
