What do you get when you take a wedding and you add bow ties, cowboy boots, Johnny Cash, cigars, hula hoops, chicken biscuits, a Bloody Mary bar, square dancing, ice cream, a ton of laughter, and an intensely in-love couple? Well, you get Rachel and Russell’s super freakin’ awesome destination wedding at Sandscrest Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, that’s what. At one point while she was getting ready, Rachel said to me, “You know, this whole wedding planning thing wasn’t really that interesting to me until I realized we could do what we wanted.” The rest, my friends, is history. Because history will remember this wedding as the coolest, funnest, creativest, happiest day anyone who was there will have ever had…. unless they’ve been to another wedding where everyone sang Ring Of Fire during the ceremony.
And that, my invisible internet friends, is how two amazing people create the coolest wedding you’ve ever seen. Between you and me, I’m still humming Ring Of Fire. Jessie caught it from me and she’s been singing it all day too. Now that’s a pretty sweet wedding hangover. I want to thank you, Rachel and Russ, for having me be a part of your incredible day. It was an honor to be a part of your story, but more than that, you two make an amazing team and I’m thrilled that I got to see you in action. I wish you many years of love and laughter and cigars and dancing.
