Today I want to tell you about how Autumn married Gabby on a perfect sunny fall afternoon on the banks of Lake Cobbossee in Maine. It was a gorgeous ceremony. The weather was amazing and the sun had just started to settle behind the trees. Everyone gathered and a hush settled as the music began. Gabby escorted her mother down the aisle, and then took her place up front to wait as the processional of their wedding party came down the aisle one by one. At last, Autumn appeared, and Gabby’s eyes teared up a the sight. In front of all of their beloved family and friends (and their adorable dog Pickles), they spoke their loving vows to each other. With a dip and a kiss, they were married. And then everyone proceeded to celebrate with the most epic dance party I have seen in a lonnnng time.
Summer camp weddings are very different from other types of weddings. There’s usually accommodations onsite where people can begin to gather for a day or two in advance and reunite, or get to know each other if they’re meeting for the first time. There’s the opportunity to explore a new place together and build a bond. By the time the actual wedding day rolls around, the inhibition that people would feel around a lot of new folks is gone, and everyone is ready to celebrate. And that’s exactly what happened here. That, and rugby. If you play rugby and are getting married anytime soon, call me.
Congratulations Autumn and Gabby!
