Aspen Gold Winter Park Colorado Wedding | Aja and Will

“eat right, exercise, die anyway”…….oh wait maybe not such a good wedding quote. how about…“you are the water for my soul when it gets thirsty”  – Matisyahu or…..“important encounters are planned by the souls long before the bodies see eachother”   – Paulo Coelho

Hello again internet friends. Today we’re going to continue the story of my month of insane traveling by taking you with me to Winter Park, Colorado for Aja and Will’s gorgeous fall wedding with tons of glorious aspens. If you’ve been stalking me for any amount of time, you know that I never pass up a chance to travel to Colorado. Partly because it’s the most gorgeous state, but mostly because all the people I’ve met who live in Colorado are the coolest people ever. Aja and Will are no exception. From my first conversation with Aja, we were laughing and cutting up like we’d known one another forever. Plus, she has purple hair. It was the first thing I noticed about her when we met in person. That and the way her eyes light up when she smiles. Compared to Aja, Will is kind of quiet, at first. Then he warms up to you and gets going and he’s seriously. darn. funny. Oh, and epic beard. Who doesn’t love a man who can commit to creating that kind of serious facial hair? So now you know why I was willing to get in my car and drive straight home from Stacey and Shawn’s wedding in Columbia, repack my bags, and then drive directly to the airport to get on a plane at disgustingly-early-o-clock in the morning on Saturday to fly to Denver. Sleep is for wimps. Really lucky wimps. The weather forecast for Sunday had been for rain starting early in the morning. But it held off, only getting cloudy on the mountain right after the ceremony, and not starting to rain until after everyone had eaten their fill of delicious tacos from the massive spread created by Chef Al at the Tabernash Tavern. The cool thing about the rain, besides how hilarious it was when everyone huddled up around the Bloody Mary bar under the tent, was that after the rain cleared, there was the most vivid double rainbow I’ve ever seen arching over Fraser as I drove back to my hotel. Now that’s a happy ending. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to tell you the coolest thing ever. Aja made Will’s boutonniere. With a rattlesnake rattler in it. Coolest. Boutonniere. Ever. The. End.
