Today I’d like to tell you the story of Sam and Joe’s magical redwood forest destination wedding at the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park in California. Sam and Joe met while they were in college and have been inseparable ever since. Although they are from Atlanta, and originally planned to have a large wedding at home, they “pulled the plug on that wedding when we realized it was making us miserable. Going back to the drawing board for this new wedding showed us that we really want this to be fun, easy-going event with our closest family and friends. We aren’t overly sappy people – but we do love each other and the people who have supported this relationship from the beginning. ” After you spend a little time with Sam and Joe, you notice a subtle interaction between them that tells you they are the kind of couple that is very definitely a team. When I asked them how they knew the other was the one for them, Joe said, “Despite being incredibly beautiful, Sam has a decent head on the broad shoulders she inherited from her father. She is the perfect combination of adventurous and lazy, loves dogs, and, for some odd reason, is interested in me.” And Sam had this to say, “Marrying Joe is probably the smartest thing I’ll ever do in my life. He is incredibly supportive of my ambitions, even though my job and interests take me to faraway places for extended for periods of time. Not all people understand his sense of humor, but he makes me laugh all the time. I don’t really believe there’s any such thing as “the one” – but I do believe that it doesn’t get much better than Joe.” Two people as strong as Sam and Joe couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate place to say their vows to each other.
