Today I want to tell you the story of how Heather and Mary celebrated their marriage surrounded by loving family and friends on a perfect summer afternoon in Traverse City, Michigan at The Peninsula Room. Nature could not have provided a more perfect day, with bright blue skies, ideal temperatures, and all on the shores of gorgeous Lake Michigan. Heather and Mary thought of every detail, and even created a few themselves. Heather’s hobby is woodworking, so the ring box and gifts for the guests were custom created by Heather. In their ceremony overlooking the lake, after saying vows they wrote themselves, they literally tied the knot with a knot ceremony. Afterwards, we walked over to the beach to make a few newlywed photos and give them a moment to absorb the magic of being newly married. Then it was time to return to the festivities and celebrate. And celebrate they did, with a rainbow cake, lots of dancing, some surprise singing, and all the happiness.
