Today I want to tell you about some very good friends of mine. But first, I want to congratulate Jason for completing boot camp and becoming a Marine. We know that they put you through hell in boot camp, and we’re all very proud of you. It can’t have been easy growing up being the only guy in a house full of ladies all those years, but I’m positive that it prepared you for some of the trials you were faced with at boot camp. Or at least you were finally able to be in a place where the drains weren’t always clogged with hair.
The folks you see in these photos are some truly wonderful people, and while really hurts me to say nice things about Leslie, I’m just gonna tough it out and do it. Leslie and I grew up together, and in the past few years she has become a really important friend, especially after she got her Big Green Egg. Tanya, of course, is genuinely amazing, her only flaw being her poor eyesight. But that has worked out well for Leslie.
But seriously, these folks are the real deal. They are the kindest people you will ever meet, and their home is always full of love and laughter and pets and lots of yelling, because all children are deaf until they’re about thirty. Wait, that might be my house. Anyway, we had a lot of fun making these photos. I’m still in shock that all of our kids are so big and full of neat ideas. It’s an exciting time for everyone and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of us.
Also, when are we having a cookout?
