“For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.” ~Rainer Maria Rilke
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Karen, who was smart and organized and liked to wear glasses and read books. And there was another girl named Michelle, who was also very smart, but a different kind of smart. She might not have been as organized, but she was full of joy and contagious energy and enthusiasm for life and was very fun to be around. One day, Karen and Michelle met and it didn’t take them long to realize that when they were together they became something big and wonderful and perfect, and made each other better than they were before. And they gave each other rings and made promises to each other and that was good. But after a while, they decided that their love was very big and amazing, and that it should be honored by having a public celebration. So they decided to be married. What they didn’t realize until then was how much their love and togetherness had inspired everyone around them, and on their wedding day, their church was filled with all the people who believed in them and were inspired by them. Here’s the story of that day.
So that’s the story of Michelle and Karen and their laughter filled wedding day. And their surprise goose-guests. Thank you Karen and Michelle for inviting me to be a part of your magical story. Getting to know you over the past few months has been a blast, and I want to wish you both many more years of love, joy, and happiness. You two are amazing.
