Leslie and Marcus Get Married on the Beach

Saturday was a special day. On Saturday, Leslie and Marcus got married. Do you remember their engagement session earlier this year?

If you saw their photos before, you may have noticed that they are an unconventional couple…

And so it’s only natural that they would have an unconventional wedding ceremony. A wedding that’s about what’s important to them… the people they love. And good food.

This is their processional. Wearing a wedding dress that she designed herself, Leslie and her soon-to-be-husband Marcus lead family and friends out onto the boardwalk.

When the boardwalk ends, they follow the path across the dunes toward the beach.

When they reach the shoreline, Leslie and Marcus stop and turn.

Standing in the water with the waves of the ocean swirling around their feet, and their closest friends and family gathered around them, it is time to make their promises.

Leslie had said earlier in the week that she felt like she was overflowing with love, and that’s easy to see in her eyes.

And so, with oceans waves dissolving at their feet, they exchanged rings to symbolize the eternal love that they share for each other.

With a kiss, their bond to each other was complete. Leslie and Marcus are now wife and husband.

I know it looks like “The End”, but it’s really just the beginning. What the picture doesn’t tell you is that at the end of that path awaits a feast fit for southern royalty. We dined on Paula Dean’s delicious catering… it is Savannah, after all.

And after we finished our divine southern feast, there was wedding cake. A very special wedding cake made for the happy couple by Marcus’ brother Chris. Never has wedding cake been so tasty… and you know I eat a LOT of wedding cake these days. After that… there was a party that no one remembers… hmmm..

Since the invention of the kiss, there have been five kisses rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind. The end. —Grandpa, reading to the grandson, The Princess Bride
