Meghan and Brian: Gorgeous Wedding Photos from the B.B.King Museum in Indianola Mississippi
*Note: This blog post best enjoyed while listening to the mighty melodic sounds of B.B. King and Lucille performing ‘Let the Good Times Roll’.
For my third to last wedding of the year, I traveled to the Mississippi Delta for a destination wedding in Indianola, Mississippi, the city where the legendary B.B. King grew up and the home of the B.B. King Museum and Cultural Center. The weekend started with lunch at The Crown, and my first encounter with their amazing tomato-basil cornbread. That stuff was so good I could have happily consumed my own body weight in cornbread that day, and Miss Evelyn just kept bringing more to the table. But never mind the cornbread. Today, it’s all about Meghan and Brian. You may remember them from their super cool engagement session in a cotton field in Clarksdale, Mississippi, which were some pretty cool photos of a wicked cool couple. These two are so fun to hang out with that (just between you and me) I was relieved to have any photos in focus at all at the end of the day. It’s really hard to hold the camera steady when you’re laughing your bum off. Meghan has a completely contagious laugh, and Brian spends most of his time doing anything he can to make her laugh. And I don’t blame him.
And now I’m going to do something I don’t usually do and interrupt the picture story to tell you what’s about to happen next. You see, weddings really never go according to plan. I have yet to go to one wedding that went exactly as planned. That’s just life. Things happen, and you adjust and keep moving. But this wedding had a little bit bigger than normal hitch, although not the biggest I’ve ever seen (that’s another story for another day). Due to some uncontrollable circumstances (the details of which I am being generously bribed not to reveal… ahem), the ceremony had to be postponed an hour at the very last minute. The guests had already arrived, however. So, after a quick discussion, we decided to do an unplanned First Look with all of the guests participating. Even though Brian had wanted to wait until the ceremony to see Meghan, he instantly agreed to change the plan because, as he told me, and I quote, “I’m the luckiest man alive”. And so he agreed to stand in front of all the guests and let all of us tease him and witness and photograph his first glimpse of Meghan in her dress. It was the best First Look ever.
And then we went and made some pretty fun wedding party photos.
And that is the story of Meghan and Brian’s beautiful destination Mississippi Delta wedding in Indianola, Mississippi. I bet you will agree it was a pretty awesome story. Thank you so much, Meghan and Brian, for the chance to spend another day with you guys, and to meet your wonderful families and get to know your crazy fun friends. You are awesome.
